Nippers

Nippers was established at the Noosa Heads Surf Lifesaving Club in 1967.

The program runs at Noosa Heads Main Beach and is designed to introduce children aged 5 to 13 years to Surf Lifesaving. It is a fun outdoor activity that grows a child’s confidence and teaches valuable surf awareness skills. Our aim is to provide a safe, family-friendly and fun environment for our Nippers. Kids living on the coast should be equipped with the best skills and knowledge for safe use of Australian beaches. Our Nippers today are the next generation of Surf Lifesavers.

2025/26 Junior Activities Handbook V2

Each year, every junior member is required to complete a Pool Swim Evaluation prior to the commencement of the season. The Pool Swim Evaluation involves a survival float and a timed swim. Nippers who were not able to make one of the Club evaluation days can be signed-off by their swim school/coach. Click below for a printable version.

Membership

To join Nippers, children must be 5 years of age to 13 years of age by 30th September.

Our enrolment period for the 2025/26 season opens on 1^st July 2025. To enrol, please click on the “JOIN NOW” button from 1st July 2025 onwards.

Please note that due to high demand and limited spots, your child may be placed on a waitlist. Priority is given to children who have older siblings already participating in our Nippers program. We recommend enrolling as early as possible to secure a place.

Additionally, the Queensland Government’s release of Play On! vouchers (formerly known as Fairplay vouchers) commences on 4^th August 2025. If you are eligible, please submit your Play On! voucher along with your membership request and fee’s in August 2025.

Renewing Families

Please follow the steps below to renew and pay for your family group:

SLS Member’s Portal

Log in to your SLS Member’s Portal HERE.
Go to the MEMBERSHIP tab.
Select FAMILY.
Select RENEW MEMBERSHIPS for your family group.
Update any necessary details.
Don’t forget to select SUBMIT.

Payment

After completing your family’s membership renewals, you will need to pay the applicable fee’s. The 2025/26 Nipper Family membership fee’s are:

One Child, Up to two parents: $300
Two Children, Up to two parents: $350
Three+ Children, Up to two parents: $400

Members Portal

Your membership fee includes: 1 x free High Vis Rash Shirt and 1 x Age Colour Cap per child, use of equipment for all nipper Sundays, access to club facilities and discounts in the supporters club.

The nippers’ merchandise and training fees are at an additional cost.
